Why it’s funny:
Through most of the nineties and a little of the noughties the right of center vote was split in Canada. In 2003 the two leaders, Stephen Harper and Peter MacKay agreed to unite their Alliance and Progressive Conservative parties in Canada. Here I thought there might be a bit of a battle for leadership, but MacKay later stepped down since his party had fewer seats.
